INVESTIGATION OF JOINABILITY OF TI6AL4V TITANIUM ALLOY AND AISI 304 STAINLESS STEEL BY DIFFUSION WELDING

İhsan KIRIK 1 , ANIL İMAK2

In this study, the joinability of Ti6Al4V titanium alloy and AISI 304 stainless steel with diffusion welding, which is one of the solid state welding methods, was investigated. Samples were combined under three different temperatures (900oC, 1000oC, 1100oC), two different holding times (1600 and 1800 sec) and constant pressure (50 N/mm2). Optical and SEM analyzes of the samples were carried out to examine the effects of coupling processes. In addition, mechanical microhardness analyzes were also carried out. As a result of the examinations, no gaps and cracks were observed in the samples joined with diffusion welding, and it was observed that they could be combined without any problems.
