TRAVMATİK DOĞUMUN ÖNLENMESİNDE EBENİN ROLÜ

Hacer YALNIZ DİLCEN1 , Rabia GENC 2

Birth is a normal physiological event in which many women live. It is identified the birth as traumatic birth experience when a woman perceives an actual threat to her own life or her baby during delivery. The midwife should diagnose women at risk of birth trauma and provide preventive care at birth inpreventing traumatic childbirth. In the postpartum period, women should have the opportunity to Express positive or negative of their birth experiences and should be able to support re-interpretation. Given the small number of studies addressing this subject in Turkey, the aim of this study was to clarify the responsibilities of midwives towards traumatic birth by examining the work on the subject. In addition, it aims to examine the concept of traumatic childbirth, risk factors, and effects of traumatic childbirth and create a basic perspective on this subject.
