Bu araştırmanın amacı, Türk resminde 1960’dan sonra yapılan toplumsal gerçekçi resimlerin sosyal ve siyasi bağlamda etkilerini incelemektir. 1960’lardan itibaren toplumsal gerçekçi anlamda birçok sanatçı, toplumun yaşantısını yorumlayan resimler üretmişlerdir. Bunlar arasında Neşet Günal, Nedim Günsür, Aydın Ayan, Nedret Sekban, Cihat Burak, Seyit Bozdoğan, Neşe Erdok, İbrahim Balaban ve Mehmet Güleryüz figür soyutlayan toplumsal gerçekçi sanatçılar olarak sayılabilir. 1960’lardan itibaren köy nüfusu kentlere göç etmeye başlamıştır. Bu durum kentlerde ve köylerde yeni sorunların ortaya çıkmasına zemin hazırlamıştır. Hızlı kentleşme, kent yaşantısının değişmesi ve Anadolu insanı sanatın temel konusu olmuştur. Farklı yaşam şartları sanatçıların yeni figüratif anlatım biçimleri geliştirmelerine kaynak oluşturmuştur. Sanatçıların ifade özgürlükleri her ne kadar kısıtlansa da onlar dönemin siyasi eleştirisine resimlerinde yer vermişlerdir. Toplum içinde yaşanan tüm değişiklikler Türk resmine yansımıştır.

The purpose of the research is that it is to examine the real realistic paintings in Turkish art culture after 1960 in social and political context. Since the 1960s, many of the artists have produced the paintings which interpret the life of the society. Neşet Günal, Nedim Günsür, Aydın Ayan, Nedret Sekban, Cihat Burak, Seyit Bozdoğan, Neşe Erdok, İbrahim Balaban and Mehmet Güleryüz can be considered as the social realist artists who abstract figures. Since the 1960s, the people who live in village have started to migrate to cities. The situation has brought about the emergence of new problems in cities and villages. Rapid urbanization, the change of urban life and the Anatolian people have been the main subject of art. Different living conditions were provided a source for the artists to develop new figurative expressions. Although the freedom of expression of the artists was restricted, they included the political criticism of the period in their paintings. All of the changes happened in the society have been reflected Turkish paintings.
