Bu araştırmanın amacı, lise öğrencilerinin bakı kavramını anlama düzeylerini ve bu kavramla ilgili yanılgılarını ortaya çıkarmaktır. Bakı kavramının öğrenciler tarafından anlaşılma düzeyini tespit etmek için 30 test tipi soru geliştirilmiştir. Test, Balıkesir il merkezinde yer alan iki lisede 1. ve 2. sınıf öğrencileri arasından rasgele seçilen 100 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, öğrencilerin bakı kavramını yeterli düzeyde anlamadıkları ve bu kavramla ilişkili konularda kavram yanılgısına sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı bir bütün olarak değerlendirildiğinde, öğrencilerin ortalama olarak % 40.26 oranında doğru algılamaya ve % 38,13 oranında yanlış algılamaya sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin bir dağın iki ayrı yöne dönük iki yamacının; güneşlenme ve yağış alma bakımından farklı durumunu ifade eden bakı kavramını özellikle yamaçların nemli hava kütlelerine göre konumunu gözetmeden değerlendirmeleri yanlış algılamalara yol açmaktadır. The purpose of this study is to find out understanding level of high school students about “exposure” concept in geography courses and to bring to light misconceptions about the subject. In order to test students’ understanding level of exposure, it was developed a questionnaire including 30 questions at different types. The test was applied randomly on selected one hundred students from 9th and 10th grades at two high schools in Balıkesir. At the end of the research, it was determined that many high school students have misconceptions about “exposure” concept on physical features of the Earth. After data was evaluated, it was seen that even though 40.26 % of the students can understand and correctly explain “exposure”, 38.13 % of the students had difficulties to understand and explain the concept. In geography, “exposure” concept is used to explain the differences between two sides of a mountain in order to explain humidity, rain, and exposure of sun light. According to test result,
