Bu araştırmada, vardiya usulü çalışmanın hemşirelerin sosyal yaşamı ve ev yaşamı üzerindeki etkileri Ankara’da Sağlık Bakanlığı hastanelerinde çalışan 238 hemşire üzerinde incelenmiştir. Sonuçlar bekâr hemşirelerin grup ilgileri ve hobilerine, banka işlerine (p<0.05); evli hemşirelerin eş/nişanlı/erkek arkadaşa ve ev işlerine ayırdıkları zamandan memnun olduklarını göstermektedir (p<0.01). Bireysel ilgiler ve hobiler, doktor/dişçiye gitme ve dini faaliyetler vardiya sayısına göre değişmektedir (p<0.05). Sosyal yaşam ve ev yaşamının sürdürülmesinde yaş, çalışma süresi, vardiyalı çalışma süresi ve vardiya sayısının etkili olmadığı(p>0.05), haftalık çalışma süresinin etkili olduğu saptanmıştır (p<0.05).

In this study, the research was conducted on 238 nurses working at the hospitals of the Ministry of Health in Ankara to determine the effects of shift work on social and domestic lives of nurses. The results show that single nurses were able to spend more time in their hobbies and group interests, banking affairs (p<0.05) while married nurses spent more time for spouse/fiancée/boy friend and for housework (p<0.01). Individual interests and hobbies, going to doctor/dentist and religious affairs varied depending on the number of shift work (p<0.05). It was determined that age, duration of work, shift work time and number of shift work did not have any effect (p>0.05) but that working time per week had effects on maintaining social and domestic life (p<0.05).
