KENDİLİK ALGISI VE BENLİK SAYGISININ PROBLEMLİ İNTERNET KULLANIMI ÜZERİNDEKİ YORDAYICI ROLÜ

Bu çalışmada problemli internet kullanımı ile benlik saygısı ve kendilik algısı arasındaki ilişki incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi Fatih Eğitim Fakültesi`nin çeşitli bölümlerinde öğrenim görmekte olan 556 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplamak için "Problemli İnternet Kullanım Ölçeği", "Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği" ve "Sosyal Karşılaştırma Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonuçları, problemli internet kullanımı ile kendilik algısı arasında negatif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğunu fakat problemli internet kullanımı ile benlik saygısı arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olmadığını ortaya koymuştur. Bağımsız-t testi sonucunda; erkek öğrencilerin problemli internet kullanım düzeyleri kız öğrencilerden anlamlı ölçüde yüksek bulunurken tek yönlü varyans analizi sonuçları ise problemli internet kullanımının bilgisayar kullanım amacına göre farklılaştığını göstermiştir.

THE PREDICTIVE ROLE OF SELF-ESTEEM AND SELF-PERCEPTION ON PROBLEMATIC INTERNET USE

In this tudy, the relationship between problematic internet use and self-esteem, self-perception were studied to investigate.The research group of the study composed of 556 students attending at the different department of Fatih Education Faculty at the Karadeniz Technical University Data collection instruments were The Problematic Internet Use Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and Social Comparison Scale. The results of analyze showed that problematic internet use have a significant relationship in negative with self-perception but problematic internet use don`t have a significant relationship with self-esteem. While male sudents` level of problematic internet use was significantly higher than female students with t-test, the results of the one-way analysis of variance showed that problematic Internet use differed according to the intended use of the computer.
