Bu araştırmanın amacı sınıf öğretmenliği programı öğretmen adaylarının sınıf öğretmenliğine yönelik algılarını belirlemektir. Araştırma verileri, yarı yapılandırılmış nitelikte beş açık uçlu sorudan oluşan anket formuyla toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonunda öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğini daha çok “Kutsal bir meslek” olarak gördükleri; öğretmenlik mesleğini de daha çok “Mesleğe ilgi duyma/kendine uygun bulma/hayalindeki meslek olma” ve “ÖSS’den istediği puanı alamadığı” için seçtiklerini belirtmektedirler. Öğretmen adayları sınıf öğretmenliğini ise en çok “İlköğretimde ilk bilgi ve becerilerin kazandırıldığı, çocuğun yaşamında iz bırakan ve çocuğu yaşama hazırlayan önemli bir meslek” olduğunu; sınıf öğretmenliğini daha çok “Mesleğe duyulan ilgi”, “ÖSS puanı” ve “Çocuk sevgisi” nedeniyle seçtiklerini belirtmektedirler.

The aim of this study is to determine the views of primary school teacher candidates’ regarding primary school. The data of the study were collected via a questionnarrie consisted of 5 semi-constructed questions. Descriptive analyze technique was used to analyze the data. It was found out that teacher candidates think that teaching profession is a “sacred profession”, “a role player in the development of society”, and “hard and self-sacrife-required”. Teacher candidates stated that the reason of choosing this profession because “they interested in this profession more/thought this profession is proper for himself/it is a dream job” and “it is what they got with the OSS score”. Teacher candidates mostly think that primary school teaching is “an important profession that makes children gain the first information and skills, and prepares the children for life”. Teacher candidates mentioned that they chose primary school teaching because of “the interest of profession”, “OSS score”, and “love of children”.
