Samiler'in vatanı olarak kabul edilen Hicaz bölgesi, islamiyet gelince kabile hayatından kurtulup devletin idare merkezi olmuştur. Emevi ve Abbasi dönemlerinde valilik, daha sonraki dönemlerde emirlik ve Osmanlı döneminde emirlikten sancak beyliğine geçmiştir. Kısa zaman sonra Suudi Krallığı kurulmuştur.
The Hedjaz region which is accepted as the land of the Samis became the administrative center of the government by getting out of the clan life together with the coming of Islam. Governorship passed to the emirate beylic during the Emevis, Abbasids and latter periods and to sanjac beylic during the Ottoman period. After a while later, Saudi Kingdom was established.
