ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ DEMOKRATİK DEĞERLERİ VE BU DEĞERLERİN BAZI DEĞİŞKENLER AÇISINDAN İNCELENMESİ

Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının demokratik değerleri ile demokratik değerlerini etkileyen faktörlerin neler olduğunu belirlemektir. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının demokratik değerlerinin cinsiyetlerine ve öğrenim gördükleri programa göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterip göstermediğinin de açığa çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. Veriler, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen `Demokratik Değer Ölçeği` aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Araştırmaya 966 öğretmen adayı katılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları, öğretmen adaylarının yüksek derecede demokratik değerlere sahip olduğunu ve bunların `hak arama`, `farklılıklara saygı`, `adalet` ile `eşitlik` şeklinde dört faktöre dayandığını göstermektedir. Öğretmen adaylarının demokratik değerleri cinsiyet değişkenine göre incelendiğinde, erkekler lehine anlamlı bir farklılık görülmektedir. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının öğrenim gördükleri programa göre de demokratik değerleri arasında farklılıklar mevcuttur.

PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS` DEMOCRATIC VALUES AND INVESTIGATION OF THESE VALUES BASED ON SOME VARIABLES

This study was purposefully conducted to determine the pre-service teachers` democratic values along with factors affecting these values and to find out whether these values showed any differences based on such variables as gender and the departments they were educating. The `Democratic Value Scale` was used to collect the data, developed by the researcher. The sampling of this study was consisted of 966 of pre-service teachers. The results indicated that pre-service teachers had a high level of democratic values and the values grouped into `seeking fairness`, `respect to differences`, `justice` and `equity`. Considering the gender issue, it can be said that there was a positive difference for the males. It was also found that there was a correlation between pre-service teachers` values and their departments.
