HAYAT BİLGİSİ DERSİNDE ALTERNATİF ÖLÇME DEĞERLENDİRME TEKNİKLERİNİN KULLANIMINA İLİŞKİN ÖĞRETMEN GÖRÜŞLERİ

Nitel desenli araştırmanın amacı, sınıf öğretmenlerinin ilköğretim Hayat Bilgisi dersinde kullanılan alternatif ölçme ve değerlendirme yöntemleri ile ilgili görüşlerini belirlemek ve bu alanda yaşanılan sorunları ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmada 15 sınıf öğretmeni yer almıştır. Öğretmenlerin alternatif ölçme-değerlendirme yöntemlerine olumlu yaklaştıkları saptanmıştır. Öğretmenlerin Hayat Bilgisi dersinde en çok kullandıkları alternatif ölçme ve değerlendirme yöntemlerinin gözlem, performans değerlendirme, öz değerlendirme ve proje yöntemleri olduğu görülmüştür. Öğretmenler derecelendirme ölçeklerinin uygulanamadığını, formların fazlalığını, fotokopilerin ve ölçeklerin pahalıya mal olduğunu, sınıfa uygun ölçeklerin hazırlanamadığını, sınıfların kalabalık olduğunu ve zamanın kısıtlı olduğunu vurgulamışlardır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına dayanılarak birtakım öneriler getirilmiştir.

TTEACHERS’ PERCEPTIONS OF ALTERNATIVE MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION TECHNIQUES USED IN LIFE SCIENCES CLASSES

The aim of this quantitative study is to determine the opinions of classroom teachers about alternative measurement and evaluation methods and problems in Life Sciences classes. 15 classroom teachers were included in the study. It was determined that the teachers’ views were positive towards alternative measurement and evaluation methods. It was also determined that the teachers mostly used observation, performance evaluation, self-evaluation and project methods in Life Sciences classes. The teachers pointed out following problems; rubrics cannot be used, there are too many forms, photocopying and scales cost too much, the scales are not suitable for the class levels, the classrooms are crowded and they do not have enough time. Some recommendations are offered in the light of findings of the study.
