ÖĞRETMENLERİN "GÖRSEL SANATLAR DERSİ" VE "GÖRSEL SANATLAR ÖĞRETMENİ" KAVRAMLARINA İLİŞKİN METAFORLARI

Bu araştırmanın amacı; ilk ve orta öğretimde görev yapan öğretmenlerin, "Görsel Sanatlar Dersi" ve "Görsel Sanatlar Öğretmenliği`ne ilişkin algılarının metafor analizi yoluyla incelenmesidir. Araştırma 2011-2012 Eğitim-Öğretim bahar yarıyılında Trabzon il merkezinde ilköğretim, ortaöğretim ve liseden oluşan üç farklı okulda görev yapan farklı branşlardaki 115 öğretmen ile yürütülmüştür. Verilerin toplanabilmesi için her öğretmene "Görsel Sanatlar Dersi ... gibidir; çünkü .... " cümlesi ve "Görsel Sanatlar Öğretmeni ... gibidir; çünkü ...†cümlesi yöneltilmiş ve boşlukların doldurulması istenmiştir. Verilerin analizinde nitel araştırma desenlerinden "olgu bilim" kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre metaforların; ilköğretim, ortaöğretim ve lisede görev yapan öğretmenlerin, "Görsel Sanatlar Öğretmeni" ve "Görsel Sanatlar Dersi`ne ilişkin kişisel algılarını ortaya çıkartmada, anlamada ve açıklamada güçlü bir araştırma aracı olarak kullanılabileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

TEACHERS` METAPHORS ABOUT "FINE ARTS LESSON" AND "FINE ARTS TEACHER"

The aim of this study was to scrutinize the perceptions of teachers in the fields of primary and secondary education, about "Fine Arts Lessons" and "Fine Arts Teachers" by metaphor analysis. This study was carried out with the participation of 115 teachers from various branches, working for three different schools at the city center of Trabzon, in the spring term of academic year 2011- 2012. In order to gather data, teachers were asked to complete the following sentences and fill in the blanks: "Fine Arts Lesson is like ...; because ..." and "Fine Arts Teacher is like ...; because ...". A qualitative research technique, "phenomenology", was used for data analysis. According to the study`s findings, metaphors can be used as a strong research tool for exploring, understanding and explaining the personal perceptions of elementary, middle and high school teachers with regard to "Fine Arts Teacher" and "Fine Arts Lesson".
