SOKAKTA ÇALIŞTIRILAN ÇOCUKLARIN BENLİK SAYGISI, DENETİM ODAĞI VE UMUTSUZLUK DÜZEYLERİ

Bu araştırmanın genel amacı, sokakta çalıştırılan çocukların benlik saygısı, denetim odağı ve umutsuzluk düzeylerini saptamaktır. Çalışmanın amacına uygun olarak örneklemi oluşturan sokakta çalıştırılan ve sokakta çalıştırılmayan iki çocuk grubu, benlik saygısı, denetim odağı ve umutsuzluk düzeyleri bakımından karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırmada ölçme araçları olarak, Coopersmith Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği, Nowicki-Strickland Çocuklar İçin Denetim Odağı Ölçeği ve Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, sokakta çalıştırılan grupla, sokakta çalıştırılmayan grup arasında benlik saygısı ve benlik saygısının alt boyutları olan; genel benlik saygısı, sosyal benlik saygısı, ev ve aile ilişkileri benlik saygısı ve akademik benlik saygısı puan ortalamaları arasında beklenen fark olmakla birlikte, bu farklılıkların anlamlı sayılabilecek düzeyde yüksek olmadığı görülmektedir.

THE SELF-ESTEEM, LOCUS OF CONTROL AND HOPELESSNESS LEVELS OF CHILDREN WHO ARE FORCED TO WORK ON THE STREET

The main aim of this study is to determine the self esteem, locus of control, and hopelessness of the children working on the streets. Self Esteem Scale, Locus of Control Scale of Nowicki-Strickland for Children and Beck Hopelessness Scale were used as measurement tools in the study. According to the findings, although there was a difference, at the expected level, between the self esteem, and other sub-dimensions of self esteem, of the children working on the streets and children who are not; it was observed that there wasn’t any significant difference between the scores of the sub-dimensions of self esteem which are general self esteem, social self esteem, home and family relations self esteem, and the academic self esteem.
