GEBELERİN GELENEKSEL VE TAMAMLAYICI TIP KULLANMA DURUMU

Bu çalışmada gebelerin kullandıkları geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı tıp yöntemleri ve kullanma nedenlerini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Tanımlayıcı tipteki çalışma, bir Üniversite Hastanesi Kadın Hastalıkları ve Doğum polikliniğinde 365 gebe ile yüz yüze görüşme tekniği ile yürütülmüştür. Gebelerin yaş ortalaması 29.07±6.05, %46.9’ü lise ve üzeri eğitime sahip, %81.4’ü ev hanımı ve %29.9’u ikinci, %69.3’ü üçüncü trimesterdedir ve tamamı herhangi bir geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı tıp yöntemi kullanmaktadır. Gebelerin %29.6’sı yaşadığı yakınmaları ve %59.5’i sağlığın devamını sürdürme amacıyla kullanmaktadır. En çok bitki çayı(%59.5) ve aromaterapi yağları(%42.5) kullanılmaktadır. Gebelerin %90.4'ü kullandıkları yöntemin kendileri ve bebekleri için faydalı olduğunu düşünmektedir ve %20.3'ünde sağlık profesyonelleri tarafından geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı tıp kullanımı sorgulanmıştır. Gebelerin kullandıkları bu yöntemleri öğrenmek için en sık başvurdukları bilgi kaynağı komşu ve arkadaşlar (%53.4) olarak bulunmuştur. Ebelerin, anemnez alırken bu alanı sorgulaması ve uygun olan yöntemlerin ebelik bakımına ilave edilmesi bakımın kalitesini artırabilir.

THE USE OF TRADITIONAL AND COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE BY PREGNANT WOMEN

It was aimed to determine the traditional and complementary medicine methods used by pregnant women and the reasons for using them. This descriptive study was conducted using face-to-face interviews with 365 pregnant women in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Outpatient Clinic of a University Hospital. The mean age of the pregnant women is 29.07±6.05, 46.9% have a high school or higher education, 81.4% are housewives, 69.3% are in the third trimester, and all of them are in any Traditional and Complementary Medicine uses the method. 29.6% of pregnant women use traditional and complementary medicine for their complaints and 59.5% to maintain their health. 59.5% of pregnant women use herbal tea and 42.5% use aromatherapy oils. 90.4% of the pregnant women stated that the method they used was beneficial for them and their babies, 20.3% of them were questioned by health professionals in the anamnesis, and 53.4% of them stated that they learned the methods from their neighbors and friends. Midwives questioning this area when taking anamnesis and adding appropriate methods to midwifery care can improve the quality of care.
