YÜKSEK GÜNEŞ ENERJİSİ PENETRASYONUNA SAHİP DAĞITIM ŞEBEKELERİNDE GERİLİM REGÜLASYONU İÇİN ENERJİ DEPOLAMA SİSTEMİNİN ZAMAN SERİSİ ANALİZİ İLE BOYUTLANDIRILMASI

Melisa Burcu Celebi1 , Abdulla Sakallı2

TIME-SERIES BASED SIZING OF BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS FOR VOLTAGE REGULATION IN DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS WITH HIGH PV PENETRATION

Melisa Burcu Celebi1 , Abdulla Sakallı2

The rapid increase in photovoltaic (PV) generation has led to voltage rise problems in distribution networks, particularly under low-load conditions. In this study, a time-series-based sizing approach for a battery energy storage system (BESS) is proposed to mitigate voltage violations in a distribution feeder with high PV penetration. Power flow analyses were performed using hourly generation and consumption data obtained from a real distribution network, and critical time intervals with voltage violations were identified. In this context, the storage capacity was determined based on the 95th percentile of daily energy requirements. The results indicate that, in the absence of the storage system, bus voltages can rise up to 1.111 p.u. under certain scenarios, whereas with the proposed BESS, all node voltages are maintained within permissible limits. The findings demonstrate that the proposed approach provides an effective and practical solution for voltage regulation in distribution networks with high PV penetration.
