YAPAY HAFİF AGREGA İLE MODİFİYE EDİLMİŞ, Na2SO4 VE NaCl ETKİSİNDEKİ KENDİLİĞİNDEN YERLEŞEN HARÇLARDA BASINÇ VE EĞİLME DAYANIMINA NANO SİLİKA KULLANIMININ ETKİSİ

Melek AKGÜL1

THE EFFECT OF NANO SILICA USE ON COMPRESSIVE AND FLEXURAL STRENGTH IN SELF-COMPACTING MORTARS MODIFIED WITH ARTIFICIAL LIGHT AGGREGATE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF Na2SO4 AND NaCl

Melek AKGÜL1

Artificial lightweight aggregate is an important alternative in the search for substitute products for aggregate in the production of mortar and its derivatives. Furthermore, the use of nano silica in the search for substitute products to reduce the amount of cement has been an important research topic in recent years. In this study, 0, 5, 10 and 15% of the aggregate was replaced with artificial lightweight aggregate, and 1, 2, 3, and 4% of the cement was replaced with nano silica. The produced samples were divided into 3 groups and kept for 28 days: group 1 in standard water curing, group 2 in a solution with a concentration of 100 ml/L Na2SO4, and group 3 in a solution with a concentration of 4% NaCl. At the end of 28 days, the flexural and compressive strength data of all groups were compared. Increasing nano silica content up to 3% has a positive effect on porosity, compressive strength, and flexural strength. Increasing the amount of artificial lightweight aggregate up to 10% provides acceptable flexural and compressive strength values. In this context, the study provides data for determining the optimal nano silica ratio to mitigate compressive and flexural strength losses associated with the use of artificial lightweight aggregate.
