EVALUATION OF ORGANIC AGRICULTURE BASED ECO-TOURISM APPLICATIONS OF ORGANIC AGRICULTURE: ÇANDIR VİLLAGE AS THE SAMPLE

Environmental problems reach to the threatening dimensions. This has led to the development of sustainable perspectives to protect the ecological system balances. One of the core reasons is the intensive use of chemical inputs in agriculture in order to increase production dramatically. Organic farming is a form of agriculture in which chemical inputs are strictly excluded. Eco-villages are models of sustainable settlements in cultural, ecological and economic context. Çandır was preferred for the case study because of its rich natural, historical and cultural resources which were seen as main parts of eco-tourism supply. People of Çandır think that Çandır has a rich tourism potential but can’t use this potential. In addition to this, people of Çandır think that Çandır has some infrastructure problems. Local people think that investment of tourism should be increased to improve tourism and tourism can raise the possibility of employment, also. Eco-tourism in making investments, will increase the importance of the village. But is it necessary to protect the historical and natural beauty to be transferred intact to future generations. Residents’ attitudes towards tourism development should be known and in the light of this information plans should be done.
