Magnolia soulangeana kentsel peyzaj düzenlemelerinde sıkça kullanılan yabancı yurtlu, oldukça dekoratif türlerden birisidir. Araştırma da, M. soulangeana’nın çelik ile üretiminde en yüksek köklenme yüzdesinin elde edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu nedenle hem çelik tipinin hem de önişlem olarak kullanılan büyüme düzenleyicilerin köklenme başarısı üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda M. soulangeana’da en yüksek köklenme; %98 ile temmuz ayında alınan yarı odunsu çeliklerde elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca büyüme düzenleyicilerden IBA’nın çeliklerin köklenmesi üzerinde olumlu etkide bulunduğu saptanmıştır.

Magnolia soulangeana, the exotic species, is one of the most used frequently in the urban landscape design and has a very decorative form. The aim of the present study was to obtain the highest rooting percentage of M. soulangeana. Therefore, both the type of cuttings and plant growth regulator as pre-treatment on rooting success were investigated. In the results of this investigation, the highest rooting percentage as 98% was obtained from semi-hardwood cutting. Also, it was found that the plant growth regulators as IBA have a positive effect on rooting of cuttings.
