Serviks kanseri, tüm dünyada kadınlarda kansere bağlı ölümler içinde ikinci sırada yer alır. Bütün dünyada önlenmesi mümkün olan bir hastalıktır. Bu çalışma Malatya Merkeze bağlı Tecde Sağlık Ocağı ve Çöşnük Sağlık Ocağı bölgelerinde yaşayan 15-49 yaş arası evli kadınlar arasında serviks (rahim ağzı) kanseri ve aşısı konusundaki bilgi düzeyleri ve tutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamına giren 15-49 yaş arası evli kadınların yaş ortalaması 34.2±8.4 yıldır. Çoğu ilkokul mezunudur (%43.1) Eğitim düzeyi ortaokul ve üzerinde olanlarda serviks kanseri ile ilgili bilgi düzeyi daha yüksektir. Gelir düzeyi arttıkça serviks kanserini duyma oranı artmıştır (%95). Araştırma sonuçları, serviks kanseri, HPV virüsü ve korunma yolları, serviks kanserinin tanısında ve kontrolünde çok önemli bir tarama olan smear testi konusunda kadınların yeterli düzeyde bilgi sahibi olmamalarına rağmen yaklaşık yarısının rahim ağzı kanserinin aşısını duymuş oldukları sonucu ortaya çıkmıştır.

Cervix cancer is the second sequence of the deaths related to the cancer all over the world. It is an illness possible to prevent all over the world. This study has been aimed to define the knowledge levels and attitudes of the women married and aged 15-49 living in the Tecde Village Clinic and Çöşnük Village Clinic regions from Malatya City Center about the cervix (uterus enter) cancer and its vaccine. The average age of the women married and aged 15-49 in the scope of the research is 34.2±8.4 years. Most of the women are primary school graduate (43.1%) The women whose education levels are secondary graduate and over know more about cervix cancer.
