Ekonomisinin önemli bir kısmı tarıma dayalı olan ülkemiz için barajlar büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Baraj gövde tipinin belirlenmesinde maliyet, arazinin topoğrafik ve jeolojik durumu, bölgenin sosyoekonomik yapısı, bölge için geleceğe yönelik su politikaları gibi birçok faktör vardır. Bu çalışmada Ülkemizde GAP Batman – Silvan Projesi Planlama Raporu kapsamındaki, Dicle nehrine soldan karışan çaylar üzerinde planlanan, Karacalar barajı esas alınarak, barajın çevreye yapacağı etkiler, bulunduğu jeoloji ve doğal yapı malzemesine uygunluğu ve maliyet karşılaştırılmalarının gövde tipi seçimine etkileri araştırılmıştır.

An important part of the economy based on agriculture which for our country, dams have a great importance. Determining the dam body type, there are many factors; such as; the cost, topographic and geologic conditions of the land, the region’s socio-economic structure and water policies for the future of the region. In this study, under the Gap Batman-Silvan Project Planning Report, based on Karacalar Dam, the affects of dam’s environmental impacts, the eligibility of geology and natural building materials and the affects of the cost comparisons for body type selection, have been investigated.
