REASONS OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS’ PREFERENCES TO BE ADMINISTRATOR AND LEAVING A QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH

This study aims to define the reasons of school administrators’ preferences to be administrator and leaving administration and develop solutions by setting light to some flaws in the functioning of system. Such research goals as school administrators’ preferences for administrative work, their reasons to return to teaching, and the effects of the administrative experience on their professional lives were identified through interviews, for data analysis content analysis method have been utilized, content analysis method has been utilized for data analysis. Detailed concept maps which base on questions during the interviews with each administrator have been prepared and conceptual relations have been identified. It was found in this study that those school administrators, who preferred administrative work with the goal to enact their experiential backgrounds and to be of good use to people, returned to teaching due to behaviours of senior executives, the systemic and personal reasons
