Spor olarak tanımlanan aktiviteler günümüzdeki konuma, bazı değişim ve dönüşümlerden geçerek gelmiştir. Batıya özgü ve geleneksel sporlardan beslenen modern sporlar; Geçmişten günümüze, kaybolan veya yaşatılmakta olan geleneksel sporlar olarak ayrılabilir. Geleneksel Türk sporlarının genel özelliklerinin sınıflandırılması ve bunların günümüzdeki uygulamalar ile karşılaştırılması bu sporların geçmişten günümüze kadara değişim ve dönüşüm serüvenini ortaya koymak açısından önemlidir. Bu çalışma da geleneksel Türk sporlarının genel özellikleri bağlamında, geçmişteki ve günümüzdeki uygulamalardan yola çıkarak bu sporlardaki değişim ve dönüşümlere dikkat çekmek ve çeşitli çıkarımlarda bulunmak amaçlanmıştır. Geleneksel Türk sporlarının geçmişte ve günümüzdeki uygulamaları değerlendirildiğinde, bazı değişim ve dönüşümden geçtiği gözlenmektedir. The activities that are defined as sports have come today after experiencing some changing and transformation. Modern sports that are fed by the sports peculiar to west and by the traditional ones can be classified as “the lost” from the past to today and as “the alive” that are traditional. In this study, in the context of the general characteristics of traditional Turkish sports, it is aimed to take attention to the changes and transformations of these sports and to have some conclusions by applying to the practices of past and today. When the past and present practices of traditional Turkish sports are examined, it is observed that there have been some changes and transformations.
