Bu çalışmada radyo dinleyicilerinin radyo programlarını dinleme alışkanlıkları tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan saha çalışmasında 664 kişiye yüz yüze görüşme yöntemiyle uygulanan anketin bulguları Türkiye`de müzik içerikli radyo programların daha fazla dinlendiğini göstermiştir. Güvenilirlik katsayısı 0,75 çıkan ve güvenilir sonuçlar veren ankette yer alan hipotezler de uygulanan testlerle doğrulanmıştır. Bu hipotezler, radyo mecrasında müzik ağırlıklı programlar söz ve tematik içerikli programlardan daha fazla talep alması, radyo mecrasında haber ve söz içerikli programların eskiye oranla daha az takip edilmesi ve günümüzde radyo mecrasının program yayınlayan bir mecradan çok müzik yayını yapan bir müzik kutusu gibi görülmesi yargılarını içermektedir. Yapılan T testi, Anova ve korelasyon analizlerinde dinleyicilerin yaş ile radyo mecrasını bir müzik kutusu olarak algılaması konusunda anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir.

This study expressed the radio program listening habits of radio consumers. In the first part of the study there has been a literature search about the concept of radio programing, their history, and creation and about their development. After the conceptual research done about the radio programs, there has been given a research about the types of programs in Turkish radio medium and how they were on air through history with references to previous researches. In the second part of the study there has been done a research about the music function of radio and there has been conducted a survey questioning the music function in radio medium. In the survey there have been an evaluation about how the music programs take more demand than the thematic and other programs in radio, and a reference to change of radio toa music box which gives more music than other type of programs.
