TANKLAR İÇİN SİNTER BALATA ÜRETİM VE KAREKTERİZASYONU

MUSTAFA ENES İSTANBULLU1 , Ahmet TOPUZ2

PRODUCTION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF SINTERED BRAKE PADS FOR TANKS

MUSTAFA ENES İSTANBULLU1 , Ahmet TOPUZ2

The increasing need for military defense worldwide has led to a growing demand in the field of military defense industry. With the increase in efforts towards the defense industry in our country, there has also been an increased need for the development and domestic supply of brake systems for military tanks. However, the supply of these brake pads is currently limited to a few foreign companies. Therefore, it is crucial to reduce the production costs of brake pads for domestic and national supply. In this study, XRF analysis of the original brake pad was conducted, and based on this analysis, a pressing pressure of 450 MPa for 1 minute and sintering at a heating rate of 15°C/min to 500°C for 30 minutes, followed by cooling at a rate of 15°C/min using a protective nitrogen gas atmosphere, were applied. Sintering temperature of 800°C for 120 minutes was performed for samples (a) and (b). Sample (c) underwent sintering process at 750°C for 120 minutes. Hardness values could not be obtained for samples 1 and 2 due to their sintering temperature of 800°C. After determining the sintering temperature of sample 3 as 750°C, the hardness value increased approximately threefold with the addition of 4% Pb lead.
