POLİVİNİLASETAT TUTKALI İLE YAPIŞTIRILMIŞ DOĞU KAYINI (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) VE DOĞU LADİNİ (Picea orientalis (L.) Link.) ODUNLARININ YAPIŞMA PERFORMANSI ÜZERİNE SUDA BEKLETME FAKTÖRLERİNİN ETKİLERİNİN ARAŞTIRILMASI

Odunun yapıştırıcı bağı odun kaynaklarının etkili kullanımında anahtar bir faktördür. Bu nedenle, bir yapıştırıcı ile birleştirilen odun ürünlerinin performansının farklı şartlar altında değerlendirilmesi oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, PVAc ile yapıştırılan odun örnekleri farklı sıcaklıktaki suya (20, 40, 60 ve 80ºC) farklı süreler (10, 20, 30 ve 40 dakika) için maruz bırakılmıştır. Deneysel sonuçlar incelendiğinde, PVAc ile yapıştırılmış odun örneklerinin suya maruz bırakılması ile örneklerin yapışma direncinde önemli derecede bir düşüş olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Direnç değerlerinde gözlemlenen bu düşüşler özellikle 60 °C ve üzerindeki sıcaklıktaki su ile muamelede daha ciddi oranlara ulaşmıştır. Ayrıca, direnç değerlerindeki düşüşler maruz bırakılan sürenin artışı ile genellikle artmıştır.

INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECTS OF SOAKING FACTORS ON THE BONDING PERFORMANCE OF ORIENTAL BEECH (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) AND ORIENTAL SPRUCE (Picea orientalis (L.) Link.) WOODS BONDED WITH POLYVINYL ACETATE

Adhesive bond of wood is a key factor in effective utilization of wood resources. Therefore, the evaluation of performance under different conditions of the wood products bonded with an adhesive is highly important. In this study, wood samples bonded with PVAc were subjected to water at different temperatures (20, 40, 60 and 80°C) for different durations (10, 20, 30 and 40 minutes). Once the experimental results were analyzed, it was observed that the bonding strength of the wood samples bonded with PVAc significantly decreased as the samples were exposed to water. These drops observed in strength values reached to larger ratios as a result of treatment with water at 60°C and temperatures above. In addition, the drops in strength values increased generally with the increase of the exposure time.
