Balıklarda Cytophagaceae familyası bakterilerinden Flavobacterium columnare tatlı su kolumnarisine, Flexibacter maritimus deniz kolumnarisine, Flavobacterium psychrophilum bakteriyel soğuk su hastalığına, Flavobacterium branchiophilum ise bakteriyel solungaç hastalığına neden olabilmektedir. Bu hastalıklardan kaynaklı ölümlerin de sektörel bazda ve ülke ekonomisinde gelir kaybına neden olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu derleme ile Cytophagaceae familyasına ait patojen bakterilerin etiyolojisi, epizootiyolojisi, konaklarında gelişen semptomlar, teşhis, korunma, kontrol ve sağaltım uygulamalarındaki son gelişmeler su ürünleri sektörü ve ilgililerle paylaşılmıştır.
