Bu araştırma, müzik eğitimi bölümlerindeki çalgı eğitiminde öğretim elemanı ve öğretmen adaylarının beklentilerini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu nedenle araştırma 18 eğitim fakültesi müzik bölümü öğrencisi ve 8 müzik bölümü öğretim elemanı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma, tarama modelinde desenlenmiştir. Veriler, yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği ile elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde, içerik analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada, çalgı eğitiminde öğretmen adayı ve öğretim elemanlarının beklentileri, beklentilerindeki ortak noktalar ve farklılıklar belirlenmiş bu sonuçların nedenleri üzerinde tartışılmış ve öneriler getirilmiştir. Çalışmanın müzik eğitimcilerine, araştırmacılarına, ayrıca yeni yöntem, yaklaşım ve kaynakların geliştirilmesini sağlayarak müzik öğretmeni adaylarına yönelik çalgı eğitimindeki niteliğin artırılmasına katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

This research aims to reveal the expectations of teaching staffs and prospective teachers about ınstrument training in music education the research consisted of 18 students of music department and 8 members of teaching staff in education faculty. The research was carried out by the use of scanning model. The data were obtained by structured interview technique. In analyzing data, the content analysis was used. In the research, the expectations of prospective teachers and teaching staffs were ıdentified and the similarities and differences of these expectations also defined about ınstrument training. The results of the research were discussed and suggestions were made. The study can contrıbute to both music educators and researchers in order to ıncrease the quality of ınstrument training of prospective music teachers by providing them new methods, approaches and sources.
