Arama motoru (search engine), dünyadaki hemen hemen tüm web sitelerinin listelendiği, kategorilere ayrılmış, aradığımız bilgileri en kısa yoldan ve hızlı bir şekilde ulaşmamızı sağlayan web siteleridir. Site veya sayfaların Arama Motorları tarafından daha kolay bulunup indekslenmesi ve Arama Sonuç Sayfalarında (Search Engine Results Pages-SERP) üst sıralarda çıkmasını sağlamak amacıyla site veya sayfalarda bazı işlemler uygulanmalıdır. Bu işlemlerin tamamı Arama Motoru Optimizasyonu (Search Engine Optimizer–SEO) olarak adlandırılır. Bu çalışmada, bir üniversitede yüksek lisans ve doktora öğrencilerinin hazırladığı tezlere, SEO tekniği sayesinde, kullanıcı tarafından en doğru ve en kısa sürede ulaşmaları sağlanmıştır.

Search Engines are websites which list all websites in the world which are divided into categories and which help us attain information in the shortest and fastest way. There are some operations at websites and pages to let search engines reach other websites & webpages easily, index them and to display them at the top rows at search engine result pages. All these operations are called as SEO. In this study, how to attain the thesis at the fastest most reliable way of master’s & doctorate students via SEO techniques has been described.
