Bu çalışmada, Özlüce Baraj Gölü'ndeki Garra rufa (Heckel, 1843)'nın morfometrik ve meristik karakterlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada 32 adet balık örneği Ocak 2013–Aralık 2014 tarihleri arasında Özlüce Baraj Gölü'nden yakalanmıştır. Balık örneklerinde 48 adet morfometrik ve 8 adet meristik özellik incelenmiştir. Balıkların vücut kısımlarından ölçülerek ve sayılarak elde edilen veriler birbirlerine oranlanmıştır. Araştırmada incelenen balıkların yanal çizgisi (linea lateral) üzerindeki pul sayısının 32-38, dorsal yüzgeç ile yanal çizgi arasındaki (transversal) pul sayısının 3-4/3-5 ve birinci solungaç yayındaki diken sayısının ise 19-22 arasında olduğu, farinks dişleri sıra ve sayısının ise 2.4.5-5.4.2 şeklinde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Dorsal, anal, pektoral ve ventral yüzgeçlerdeki sert ve yumuşak ışınlar sayılmıştır. Buna göre türün tanımlayıcı özellikleri D:III/9, A:II-III/6, P:I/12-15, V:I/8 olarak belirlenmiştir.

This study aimed to determine the morphometric and meristic characteristics of Garra rufa (Heckel, 1843) living in Özlüce Dam Lake. In the study, 32 fish samples were caught from Özlüce Dam Lake between January 2013 and December 2014. 48 morphometric and 8 meristic features were examined in fish samples. The data obtained by measuring and counting on the body parts of the fish were proportioned to each other. The number of scales on the lateral line (linea lateral) of the fish examined in the study is 32-38, the number of scales between the dorsal fin and the lateral line (transversal) is 3-4/3-5, the number of spines on the first gill arc is 19-22, the row and numbers of pharynx teeth are 2.4.5-5.4.2. The hard and soft rays on dorsal, anal, pectoral, and ventral fins were counted. Accordingly, the descriptive characteristics of the species were determined as D:III/9, A:II-III/6, P:I/12-15, V:I/8.
