Araştırmanın amacı,“Sınıf öğretmenlerinin ilköğretim programında yer alan temel becerilerden eleştirel düşünmenin geliştirilmesine yönelik görüşleri”ni belirlemektir. Araştırmada nitel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Elazığ ilinde görev yapan 30 sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Veriler, görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmada, NVivo-7 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularından bazıları şöyledir: Eleştirel düşünmenin geliştirilmesinde öğrencinin kendisini rahatça ifade edeceği bir ortamın, soru sormanın, tartışmanın ve okumanın öneminden bahsetmişlerdir. Eleştirel düşünmenin geliştirilmesinde daha çok tartışma ve soru-cevap yönteminin etkili olduğunu, Türkçe ve Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde daha çok geliştirilebileceğini belirtmişlerdir.

The aim of the study is to determine “The opinions of classroom teachers towards development of critical thinking within basic skills in the elementary education programme. The qualitative method was used in the research. The group of the study consists of 30 classroom teachers, working in Elazy?. Data was collected via interview form. NVivo-7 package programme is used in the research. Some of the findings of the research are as follows: Through the period of critical thinking development,they have mentioned about students comfort during the lesson as well as asking questions and discussing the atmosphere topics. They said that critical thinking can be improved much better by the methods of discussing and asking questions, especially in the courses of Turkish and Social studies.
