Türkiye’de iç göç ve kentleşme hızı özellikle 1950-1960 arasında yüksek düzeydedir. Bu dönemde filmler hem toplumsal değişimleri dolayısıyla göç olgusu ve sorunlarını, hem de kitlenin beklentileriyle çelişkilerini yansıtmıştır. Göç olgusu yüzeysel olarak popüler filmlerde ele alınırken 60’lı yıllar aynı zamanda konuya ciddi şekilde yaklaşan ve değişimin içinde yer alan bireylerin çelişkilerini derinlemesine ele alan önemli filmlerin yapıldığı bir dönemdi. Bu dönemden itibaren de dış göçle ilgili filmler de yapılmaktaydı. 1970’lerdeyse artık sinema ve müzik endüstrisiyle kendi kültürünü çoktan oluşturmuş bir kitle vardır ve bu kitlenin yaşantısını konu edinen filmler çevrilmekteydi. 1980’lerde büyük kentlerde tutunmak giderek zorlaşırken göç olgusuyla ilgili filmler daha az sayıda yapılmaktaydı. Between 1950 and 1960 relocations in Turkey and accelerating rate of population in big cities are so high. And films reflected not only by social changes and problems of migration but also by expectations and conflicts of the mass. Whereas such relocations was being told in popular films, during 1960’s, important films about conflicts of people who were struggling with the problems of relocations seriously, were made. Films were made about Turkish emigrants in foreign countries too. During 1970’s with its music and cinema industries there had already been a mass, who created its own mass culture.
