Sürekli kaygı; Bireyin kaygı yaşantısına olan yatkınlığı olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda kişinin içinde bulunduğu durumları genellikle stresli algılama ya da stres olarak yorumlama eğilimi de denebilir. Bu çalışmada; güreşçilerin sürekli kaygı düzeylerinin bazı değişkenler açısından araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaca ulaşmak için, Spielberg ve arkadaşları (1970) tarafından bireylerin sürekli kaygı düzeylerinin ölçülmesi amacıyla geliştirilen Öner ve Le Compte (1983.) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan, 20 sorudan oluşan sürekli kaygı ölçeği güreşçilere uygulanmıştır. Araştırma, 22 ilden 110 güreşçinin katılımıyla Elazığ ilinde gerçekleştirilen 4.Doğu ve Güney Doğu yaz oyunlarına katılan 13-17 yaş arasındaki 110 erkek güreşçi ile sınırlıdır. Elde edilen veriler sonucunda müsabakalara katılan güreşçilerin kaygı düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu, bu farklılıkların yaş, eğitim gördükleri sınıf düzeyi, kardeş sayıları, baba meslekleri arasında istatistikî anlamda anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir.
