Bu araştırmada ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin müzik dersine yönelik tutumları ile akademik başarıları arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2010-2011 eğitim-öğretim yılında Samsun`un Atakum, İlkadım ve Canik merkez ilçelerinde MEB`e bağlı 11 ortaöğretim kurumunda öğrenim görmekte olan toplam 372 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri Ortaöğretim Müzik Dersine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ve Ortaöğretim Müzik Dersi Başarı Testi ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin istatistiksel çözümlemelerinde SPSS 17.0 paket programı ve ITEMAN analiz programı ile yüzdelik frekans, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, KR-20 İç Tutarlılık Katsayısı, Pearson Momentler Çarpımı Korelasyon Katsayısı ve T-Testi kullanılmıştır. İstatistik sonuçlar 0.05 anlamlılık düzeyinde yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, müzik dersi alan öğrencilerin derse yönelik tutumlarının orta düzeyde, dersin içeriği ile ilgili akademik başarılarının ise oldukça düşük düzeyde olduğu; tutum puanları yükseldikçe başarı puanla

This study examines the correlations between secondary education students` attitudes towards music course and their academic achievement levels. The research sample was composed of 372 students attending the 11 secondary education institutes of the Ministry of Education in the towns of Atakum, Ilkadım and Canik as well as in the centre of Samsun. The research data were obtained through the scale of secondary education music course and secondary education music course achievement test. The SPSS 17.0 package programme in addition to ITEMAN analysis programme, percentages, frequencies, arithmetic averages, standard deviations, KR-20 internal consistency coefficients, Pearson`s moments multiplication correlations coefficient, and the T-test were used in the statistical analyses of the data. The statistical results were interpreted at the 0.05 significance level.
