Eğitimde millîlik, Osmanlı devletinin son döneminde tartışılmaya başlanmış bir konudur. II. Meşrutiyet döneminde bu konuda bazı dernekler kurulmuş, yayınlar yapılmıştır. Bunlardan biri de Millî Tâlim ve Terbiye Cemiyeti’dir. Bu dernek millî bir eğitim sisteminin kurulması için pek çok faaliyet yapmıştır. Bunlardan en önemlisi Millî Tâlim ve Terbiye Cemiyeti Mecmuası adında bir dergi çıkarmasıdır. Dönemin önce gelen eğitimcileri dergide görüşlerini açıklamışlar, projeler sunmuşlardır. Altı sayı yayımlanan dergide Türk eğitim tarihi ve eğitim sosyolojisi açısından oldukça önemli yazılar yayımlanmıştır. Burada tartışılan fikirlerin Cumhuriyet dönemi eğitim politikalarının belirlenmesinde etkili olduğu söylenebilir. Bu makalede adı geçen dergi bütün yönleri ile incelenmiş ve bütün yazılarının özetleri verilmiştir.

Nationality in education has been discussed in the last period of Ottoman State. Some associations were established and some thing published in this regard in the Second Constitutional Period. One of them is National Training and Education of Society. In order to establish national education system, this association has made many activities. The most important of them is that published Journal of National Training and Education of Society. The leading educators of the period express their opinions and submitted projects in this journal. There are very important papers in this journal about history of Turkish education and sociology of education. The ideas discussed here that can be said to be effective in determining Republican period’s educational policy. In this article examined that mentioned journal all aspects and all articles are summaries of.
