Bu çalışma ilköğretim ikinci kademe öğrencilerinin bilişim teknolojilerinden yararlanma düzeylerini belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 2010-2011 öğretim yılında Malatya ili kent merkezi ve gecekondu bölgelerindeki ilköğretim okullarından randomize örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen toplam 345 ilköğretim öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak Özmusul’un (2011) geliştirdiği bilişim teknolojilerinden yararlanma ölçeğinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda: Bilişim teknolojilerinden yararlanma konusunda kent merkezi ve gecekondu bölgeleri ilköğretim okullarındaki II. Kademe öğrencilerinin görüşlerinin belirgin bir şekilde farklılaştığı görülmüştür. Gecekondu bölgeleri ilköğretim okullarındaki öğrencilerin bilişim teknolojilerinden daha çok oyun ve eğlence amaçlı faydalandıkları görülmüştür. Oyun ve eğlence boyutu ile ilgili olarak 6.sınıf öğrencileri ve 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin görüşleri arasında da anlamlı bir fark olduğu gözlenmiştir.

The aim of this study is measuring the utilization level of secondary part of elemantary primary school’s students from Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). ICT Scale, whichw as developed by Özmusul, (2011), for The Utilization Of Information and Communication Technologies was used. The universe of this study is the government schools in the centeral province of Malatya. 345 secondary part of elemantary school students from government schools in centeral province of Malatya have been taken into the pattern of the reserch. Results of the study shows that there are clear differences between the ideas of the students in the city centre and the suburb areas. Statistical data shave shown that the students in the suburb areas of the city are using ICT mainly forent entainment and playing games rather than using for educational purposes. The main difference amoung the ideas of the classes was found amoung in the ideas of 6th grade studens and 7th and 8th grade students only
