Bu araştırmada da ortaöğretimde görev yapan coğrafya öğretmenlerinin öz-yeterlik algılarına etki eden faktörler belirlenerek, elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda bazı çıkarımların yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçlar doğrultusunda Tschannen-Moran ve Hoy [2001] tarafından geliştirilen, geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması Çapa, Çakıroğlu ve Sarıkaya [2005] tarafından yapılan “Öğretmen Özyeterlik Ölçeği” (Teacher’s Sense of Efficacy Scale – TSES), toplam 216 coğrafya öğretmenine uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre coğrafya öğretmenlerinin öz-yeterlik algı düzeylerinde cinsiyet, medeni durum ve görev yeri değişkenlerinde istatistiksel olarak herhangi bir farklılık gözlemlenmezken, yaş ve mesleki kıdem değişkeninde sınıf yönetimi alt boyutunda fark tespit edilmiştir. Ders kaynakları kullanımında çeşitlilik ve ölçme değerlendirmede farklı yöntem kullanma değişkenleri ise öz-yeterlik algılamalarının değişik alt boyutlarıyla ilişkili bulunmuş ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark tespit edilmiştir.

The factors affecting the self-efficacy perceptions of geography teachers working at secondary education schools were determined and some inferences were aimed to be done in line with the results obtained. In line with these aims, “Teacher’s Sense of Efficacy Scale – TSES” developed by Tschannen-Moran and Hoy [2001] and whose validity and reliability study was conducted by Çapa, Çakıroğlu and Sarıkaya [2005] was administered to 216 geography teachers in total. While no statistically significant difference was found in self-efficacy perception levels of geography teachers in terms of sex, marital status and duty place variables, a statistically significant difference was found between the variables of perception of high self-efficacy, variability in the use of course sources, the use of different methods in assessment and evaluation and the different lower dimensions of the perceptions of self-efficacy in the variable of age and professional seniority at the lower dimension of class management.
