Bu çalışma, Görsel Sanatlar dersi öğretiminde karşılaşılan sorunları sınıf öğretmenlerinin görüşlerine dayalı olarak belirlemek amacıyla genel tarama yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler; alanyazın taraması ve öğretmenlerin yazılı görüşlerine dayalı olarak anketle toplanmıştır. Çalışmada, 30 öğretmenden uygulamada karşılaştıkları sorunları yazılı ve 153 öğretmenden anket yoluyla veriler toplanmıştır. Sınıf öğretmenleri ankette yer alan tüm maddelerin öğretme-öğrenme sürecinde yaşanılan sorunlar olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Sınıf öğretmenleri, okul yöneticilerinin ve velilerin Görsel Sanatlar Dersini not yükseltme dersi olarak görmeleri, okullarda bu ders için uygun ortamların ve yeterli düzeyde araç-gerecin olmaması ve öğrencilerin sanatsal alandaki çalışmalarının desteklenmemsini önemli sorunlar olarak belirtmişlerdir. Görsel Sanatlar dersi öğretiminde karşılaşılan sorunlara ilişkin öğretmen görüşleri, kişisel özelliklerine göre anlamlı farklılık göstermezken, eğitim fakültelerinden mezun olan sınıf öğretmenleri diğer fakülte mezunlarına göre sorunlara daha duyarlı oldukları belirlenmiştir.

This study is carried out to identify problems encountered by classroom teachers in visual arts course teaching by general scan method based on classroom teachers’ views. The data have been gathered through field database scanning, written opinions of teachers and through questionnaire whose developed through teachers’ opinions. In the study, written data from 30 teachers and data acquired through survey from 153 teachers about the problems that they encounter are collected. Classroom teachers stated that all the items taking place in the survey are the problems that they encounter in teaching- learning process. Classroom teachers define school administrators’ and curators’ considering visual arts course as a grade increasing course, insufficient setting and instruments at schools, not supporting students’ studies in arts as important problems. While teachers’ views about encountered problems in visual arts courses don’t differ according to personal characteristics but variables of their classroom, it is stated that teachers graduated from faculty of education are more sensitive to problems compared with teachers graduated from other faculties.
