Bu çalışma, ilk okuma yazma öğretimi sürecinde karşılaşılan sorunları sınıf öğretmenlerinin görüşlerine dayalı olarak belirlemek amacıyla genel tarama modeliyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada veriler; alanyazın taraması, öğretmenlerin yazılı görüşleri ve bunların düzenlenmesinden oluşturulan, geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması yapılan beşli likert tipi bir anketle toplanmıştır. Çalışmada, 40 öğretmenden ilk okuma yazma öğretiminde karşılaştıkları sorunları yazılı olarak ve 103 öğretmenden anket yoluyla veriler toplanmıştır. Sınıf öğretmenleri ankette yer alan tüm maddelere yüksek oranda katıldıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Sınıf öğretmenleri; sınıfların kalabalık olması, ailelerin çocuklarına destek olma konusunda yeterli düzeyde bilgi sahibi olmaması, görsel-işitsel araçların yetersiz olması, ders kitabının özel yayınevi kaynakları ile desteklenmesi ihtiyacını önemli sorunlar olarak görmüşlerdir. Çalışmada; okulöncesi eğitimin yaygınlaştırılması, sınıf mevcutlarının kabul edilebilir düzeyde olması ve ailelerin çocuklarına destek olma noktasında bilgilendirilmesi gibi öneriler geliştirilmiştir.

This study realized by general survey model to identify the problems which may face during the first reading and writing process according to classroom teachers’ opinions. The data’s which used in this study gathered by checking writing literature and the five choice likert poll which was formed by the written opinion of the teachers who joined this survey. In this study data’s were gathered by the written opinions from 40 teachers about the problems of first reading and writing process and by the poll from 103 teachers. Classroom teachers who joined this survey mostly agreed the items in the poll. Elementary school teachers mostly thinks that crowded classes, socio economic situation of the students’ families, the lack of the audio and visual facilities and the need of supporting the textbooks by private textbooks are the most important problems. In these study suggestions such as developing pre- elementary school education, decreasing the population of classes and instructing the students’ families about supporting their students were suggested.
