GEOLOGICAL AND PETROGRAPHICAL FEATURES OF TOPRAKKALE (MUŞ) BARITE MINERALIZATION

Hacı Alim BARAN 1

Barite mineralization in Toprakkale village, Muş region occurred in recrystallized dolomitic limestones, which belong to Devonian aged Meydan formation. Barites are seen as veins in fractures and faults in the host rocks. According to geological, mineralogical and petrographical investigations of barite mineralizations, two different phase of barites that are also different mineral assemblages are determination in host rocks.
