Değerler belirli toplumsal destekler var olduğu sürece nesilden nesile aktarılır. Bu aktarım sürecinde eğitim ve öğretmenler önemli bir yer teşkil etmektedirler. Bu çalışmanın amacı da değerlerin aktarımı sürecinde önemli bir etkiye sahip olan öğretmen adaylarının değer tercihlerini belirlemektir. Bu belirlemeyi yapmak üzere Erol Güngör’ün profesörlük tezinde kullandığı ölçeğin birinci basamağı kullanılmıştır. Bu basamakta 7 tane değere karşılık gelen ikişer adet yargı bulunmaktadır ve öğrencilerden bu yargıları en çok önem verdiklerinden en az önem verdiklerine göre sıralamaları istenmiştir. Bu çalışmada Gazi Üniversitesi’nde öğrenim görmekte olan 1. ve 4. sınıf, Sınıf Öğretmeni adaylarının değer tercihleri nelerdir, bu tercih sırası cinsiyete, bulundukları öğrenim kademesine göre nasıl şekillenmiştir gibi sorulara cevap aranmıştır. Elde edilen verilerden ulaşılan sonuca göre dini ve ahlaki değer sıralamaları dışında ilmi, estetik, ekonomik, siyasi ve sosyal değer sıralamasında sınıf derecesi ve cinsiyete göre farklılıklar gözlenmiştir.

Values are transferred from generation to generation as long as some certain social supports are available. Education and teachers constitute a significant role in this process of transportation. The purpose of this study is to determine the value preferences of teacher candidates who have a significant effect on the process of transportation of the values. In order to perform this determination, the first stage of the scale used in the professorial thesis of Erol Güngör was used. In this stage, there are two provisions that correspond to 7 values and the students were asked to arrange these provisions from the one they attach importance the most to the one they attach importance the least. In this study, answers to questions such as what the value preferences of the 1st and 4th grade primary school teacher candidates who study at Gazi University are and how this preference order is shaped according to gender and education grade were sought. According to the result which was made out from the data acquired, except of religious and ethical value arrangements, some differences were observed according to class level and gender within the scientific, aesthetic, economic, political and social value arrangements.
