Bu araştırmanın amacı, üniversite giriş sınavlarına hazırlanan lise son sınıf öğrencilerinin sınav kaygıları üzerinde aile faktörünün etkilerini belirlemektir. Araştırma, 2009-2010 eğitim-öğretim yılında, Adana ve Niğde illerinden seçilen 9 genel lisede öğrenim görmekte olan 256 lise son sınıf öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma verileri “Aile Temelli Sınav Kaygısı Ölçeği (ATSKÖ)” yoluyla elde edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin sınav kaygısı düzeylerinde cinsiyet ve okudukları bölüm değişkenleri açısından anlamlı bir farklılık görülmezken; ailenin aylık gelir düzeyi, anne eğitim düzeyi ve baba eğitim düzeyi değişkenleri açısından anlamlı farklılığın bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, sınavlara hazırlık süreçlerinde, aile-öğrenci ilişkilerinde yaşanan sorunların ve çeşitli aile-tutum ve davranışlarının, öğrencilerin sınav kaygılarını farklı düzeylerde etkilediği belirlenmiş ve bu süreçte öğrencilerde en yüksek düzeyde sınav kaygısı yaratan faktörün, “ailenin geleceğe yönelik beklentileri” olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

The rationale of this research is to determine the effects of family factors on the test anxiety of senior high school students in preparation for the university entrance exam. The research has been carried out with the help of the participation of 256 high school students from 9 different schools, selected in Adana and Nigde in 2009-2010 academic year. The data of this research has been gathered through “Family-Based Test Anxiety Scale (FBTAS)”. While there is no significant difference between levels of test anxiety in terms of variables of students’ gender and department, it has been revealed that there is a significant difference in terms of family owned monthly income, maternal educational level and paternal educational level. Additionally, during the exam preparation, it has been revealed that the problems between family and student and the family’s various attitudes and behaviors have an effect on student’s test anxiety in different levels and it has been determined that the factor which leads to the highest test anxiety in students is the family’s expectations for the student’s future.
