Matematik tarihi son yıllarda matematik ders kitaplarında ve matematik eğitimi araştırmalarında ön plana çıkmaktadır. Ancak öğretmenlerin bu konuda bilgi eksikliklerinin ve çeşitli ihtiyaçlarının olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu nedenle bu çalışmanın amacı, ilköğretim matematik öğretmenlerinin matematik tarihi ve derslerde kullanım yollarına yönelik ihtiyaçlarını belirlemek için bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Araştırmacılar tarafından literatür taraması, doküman analizi ve öğretmen görüşleri doğrultusunda 30 taslak madde hazırlanmıştır. Uzman görüşleri doğrultusunda ilgili maddeler 23 maddeye indirgenmiştir ve taslak ölçek oluşturulmuştur. Taslak ölçek, farklı ilköğretim okullarındaki 248 matematik öğretmenine uygulanmıştır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliği için faktör analizi yapılmış ve temel bileşenler analizi yöntemi kullanılmış, güvenirliği için test-tekrar test ve Cronbach Alpha iç tutarlık katsayıları hesaplanmıştır. History of mathematics have come to the fore in mathematics textbooks and mathematics education in recent years. But it is known that teachers have lack of knowledge and various needs on this subject. Thus, the aim of this study is developing a scale to define the needs of elementary school mathematics teachers about history of mathematics and ways of its usage in lessons. 30 draft items was created by the researchers from a literature review, document analysis and by taking teachers’ views into account. The draft scale was applied to 248 teachers attending different elementary schools. The factor analysis was conducted and principal components analysis methods was used for construct validity of the scale, test-retest and Cronbach’s Alpha internal consistecy coefficients were calculated for the reliability.
