Bu çalışmada okulöncesi öğretmenlerinin fen eğitimine ilişkin görüşlerinin belirlenmesi ve fen eğitimine yönelik fen etkinliklerini planlama ve uygulamalarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 64 okulöncesi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri nitel ve nicel yöntemle toplanmıştır. Nitel boyutta görüşme ve gözlem yöntemleri kullanılmış, nicel boyutta okulöncesi öğretmenlerine fen eğitimine yönelik anket uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda okulöncesi öğretmenleri erken yaşta fen eğitiminin önemli olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin fen etkinliklerinde en sık kullandıkları yöntemin “deney” olduğu, bunu sırasıyla drama ve gezi-gözlem yöntemlerinin takip ettiği belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenler fen etkinliklerini gerçekleştirirken, önce çocuklarla soru- cevap yöntemiyle sohbet ettiklerini, materyallerini tanıttıklarını, çalışmaya yönelik çocuklara bilgi verdiklerini ve sonra çalışmayı uyguladıklarını belirtmişlerdir.

In this paper,it’s aimed to investigate planning and applying activities of science inclined towards science education in addition to determination of preschool teacher’s opinions of science education. The sample of the study is constituted of 64 preschool teachers. The data of the study was collected by the means of both qualitative and quantitative methos. The qualitative ways of collecting data was observation and interview and quantitative way of collecting data was survey.It was asked teachers to fill a personal information form and answer to the questions of a quastionnaire related to preschool science education. At the end of study, preschool teachers indicated in their opinions that; science education in early ages is important, the frequently used method in science education is experiment, but they also use methods such as drama and trip-observation and they talk to the children during the activities using question- answer technique, introduce materials, give information about the study, then implement the study.
