INVESTIGATING SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS’ SELF-EFFICACY BELIEFS IN TERMS OF CERTAIN VARIABLES (TRABZON CITY SAMPLE)

This study is conducted to investigate the self-efficacy beliefs of school administrators with respect to variables of gender, experience, and educational status, school level and how they chose the profession. The sample of the study was 172 primary and secondary school administrators working in Trabzon city in 2009-2010 educational year. At the end of the study, it was proved that male administrators have significantly higher self efficacy level then female counterparts; the administrators with 10-15, 15-20 and above 20 years of experience than the administrators with 5-10 years of experiences; the administrators with masters degree than the ones with bachelors degree; the administrators in secondary schools than the ones in primary schools and finally; the administrators who chose the profession intentionally and unintentionally than the ones chose the profession accidentally.
