Günümüzde dünya finansal piyasalarındaki risklerin yönetilmesinin bir yolu da finansal türev ürünlerin kullanılmasıdır ve bu ürünlerin kullanımı da çok büyük bir hızla artmaktadır. Türev ürünler en son yaşanan küresel finansal krizle birlikte ekonomi gündemine oturmuş ve risk yönetimi aracı olarak kullanılan bu ürünlerin aslında bu krizin sebebi olduğu yolunda çeşitli görüşler öne sürülmüştür. Türev ürünlerin krizin sebebi olduğu yolundaki görüşlere karşın aslında bu ürünlerin krizin sebebi olmadığı, ancak doğru kullanılmamasından kaynaklanan sorunlar yaşandığına dair görüşler de vardır. Kısaca konu tartışmalıdır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, türev ürünler hakkında bilgi vermek, türev ürünlerin finansal piyasalarda kullanımını açıklamak, türev ürünlerin 2008 küresel finansal krizine etkisini tartışarak sonuçlar çıkarmak ve öneriler geliştirmektir.

One way of risk management in today’s global financial markets is using financial derivative products in risk management and their usage has rapidly been increasing day by day. The derivative products came to the fore of economic agenda with the latest global financial crisis; these products as a way of risk management were thought to cause this crisis. In contrast to these thoughts, derivative products to cause the crisis, they aren’t the real cause of the crisis, but there are problems originated from not using them properly in risk management. Shortly, the subject is controversial.The aim of this paper is to give information about the derivative products and the problems about their usage in financial markets, to discuss the effects of derivative products on global financial crisis in 2008 and to make conclusions and proposals accordingly.
