Araştırma, okul öncesi kurumlara devam eden çocukların davranış problemlerinin çocuğun yaş, cinsiyet, doğum sırası, kardeş sayısı, ana-baba yaşı, mesleği, eğitim durumu, ailenin gelir durumu ve ailede başka yetişkinlerin olması değişkenleriyle ilişkisini incelemek amacıyla planlanmıştır. Araştırmada 2007-2008 bahar döneminde Bolu il merkezindeki resmi anaokul ve anasınıfına devam eden 322’si kız,316’sı erkek toplam 638 çocuğa ulaşılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Hacettepe Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi Çocuk Bölümü tarafından geliştirilmiş Davranış Problemleri Kontrol Listesi anaokulu ve anasınıfı öğretmenlerinin yardımıyla ana-babalara uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularında çocuğun davranış problemleri ile çocuğun yaşı, cinsiyeti, annenin yaşı, mesleği ve ailede başka yetişkinin varlığı arasında anlamlı bir ilişkiye rastlanmazken, çocuğun doğum sırası, kardeş sayısı, babanın yaşı, mesleği, ana-babanın eğitim durumu ve ailenin gelir durumu arasında ilişki bulunmuştur.

The study has been planned to research the relationship of behavioral problems of children attending preschool institutions with variables such as the child’s age, gender, birth order, age of parents, their profession, their education level, income status of the family, number of siblings and presence of other adults in the family. A total population of 638 children, consisting of 322 girls and 316 boys, attending official preschool and kindergarten institutions at Bolu provincial center in spring semester of 2007-2008, have been included into the study. The Behavioral Problems Checklist, developed by Hacettepe University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Child Development, was applied as the data collection tool on the parents with the assistance of the preschool and kindergarten teachers. The findings of the study revealed that while no meaningful relationships could be found between the child’s behavioral problems and the child’s age, gender, mother’s age, profession and presence of other adults in the family, a relationship has been found with the child’s birth order, number of siblings, father’s age, profession, education of the parents and the income status of the family.
