Bu araştırma, sosyal sermayenin önemli ölçütlerinden biri olan ailenin, toplumun sosyal sermaye rezervlerinin tanımlanmasında sağladığı katkıyı açıklamaktadır. Bu amaçla, sosyal sermaye kavramı ve ailenin toplumsal sistemdeki yeri incelenmiştir. Çalışma toplumsal değişme süreci içerisinde aile yapısında meydana gelen değişimlerin sosyal sermaye boyutunu nasıl etkilediğini ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma, Toplumsal Alışveriş Perspektifi ve Ekolojik Perspektif ışığında vücut bulmuştur. Çalışma sonunda aile ilişkilerinin ve aile yapısında gözlemlenen değişimlerin direkt olarak toplumun sosyal sermaye düzeyine etki ettiği tespit edilmiştir.

This study explains the contributions of the family on defining social capital reserves of the society as being one of the significant measures of the social capital. With this purpose, the term of social capital and the place of family in social system are examined. Its purpose is to assert how changes in family structures during the social transformation affect the social capital dimension. This study is performed in the light of “Social Transaction Perspective and Ecological Perspective”. It is determined that transformations which are observed in family relations and family structure directly affect social capital orders in society.
