İnsanların işlerini istekle yapmaları halinde verimliliklerinin artığı bilindiğinden, çalışanların nasıl motive edilebileceği konusu, yönetim biliminin hep gündeminde olmuş; konuya yönelik çok sayıda araştırma yapılmış ve teori geliştirilmiştir. Bilinen motivasyon araçları büyük ölçüde endüstriyel işletme çalışanları ile ilgili gözlemlerin genellemelerine dayanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, mevcut motivasyon araçlarının, çeşitli bakımlardan kendine özgü koşullara sahip inşaat yönetimi bağlamında etkinliklerinin irdelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu amaca yönelik olarak, yaygın kullanılan isteklendirme araçları ve inşaat yönetiminin özgün koşulları göz önünde bulundurularak hazırlanan anket, bir inşaat şirketinin yönetim kademesi çalışanlarına uygulanmış ve elde edilen veriler analiz edilmiştir.

The question of how the employees could be motivated always remains in the agenda of management science since it is known that when the people work ambitiously their productivity obviously grows. Many researches have been conducted and many theories have been developed aimed at this issue. The recognized motivational tools are highly based on the generalization of the observations of the people employed in industrial organizations. Therefore, this study aims to examine effectiveness of existing motivational tools in the context of construction management, which has distinctive characteristics from various aspects. To this end, a questionnaire, which was prepared by taking into consideration widely-used incentive tools and specific conditions of construction management, was applied to top management personnel of a construction company and the data obtained was analyzed.
