Bu araştırmanın amacı, eğitim falültesi öğrencilerinin epistemolojik anlayışlarını belirlemektir. Bu amaçla Fırat Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören 480 son sınıf öğrencisine, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen ve geçerlik-güvenirlik çalışması yapılan likert türü ölçek uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizinden, öğrenci görüşlerinin, bilimin doğasına yönelik anlayışlarının, öznel ve nesnel bilgi yaklaşımlarının sentezi sayılabilecek bir orta yolda yoğunlaştığı belirlenmiştir. Öğrenciler, bu anlayışlarına paralel olarak bilgiye ulaşmada akıl, duyu ve sezgi üçlemesi yönünde görüş belirtmişlerdir. Öğrenciler, bilginin hem doğuştan getirilen ve hem de sonradan kazanılan boyutları olduğu görüşünde birleşmişlerdir. Öğretmen adayı öğrencilerin, senteze dayalı orta yol niteliğindeki bu epistemolojik anlayışlarının, onlara ileride öznel ve nesnel bilgi boyutlarına sahip olan Yeni İlköğretim Programlarını, doğasına uygun olarak uygulayabilmede avantaj sağlayacağı değerlendirilmiştir. yna uygun olarak uygulayabilmede avantaj sa?layaca?y de?erlendirilmi?tir.

The aim of this study is to determine the epistemologic understanding of the students in faculty of education. With that in mind, likert type scale developed by researchers was applied to 480 senior students in Fırat University Faculty of Education. By the analysis of datum, it has been established that students’ opinions and their understanding about the nature of science are on a midway which may be assumed as a synthesis of objective and subjective knowledge approaches. Students, on the parallel of this understanding, expressed their opinions about the trilogy of mind, sense and intution in acquiring knowledge. Students agreed on the opinion that knowledge has both inborn and learned aspects. It has been conluded that the epistemological understanding of pre-teachers which is based on synthesis and has a midway characteristics will provide them with the advantages of applying the new primary school cirruculum which has objective and subjective knowledge aspects naturally.
