Bu çalışma, Türkiyeâ€â„¢de eğitim fakülteleri müzik öğretmenliği anabilim dallarında verilen viyolonsel derslerinde yaygın olarak kullanılan (Güler, 2006) Sebastian Lee, Op.31 metodundan 1 numaralı etüdün teknik ve biçimsel olarak incelendiği betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden içerik analizi modeli kullanılmıştır. Yapılan bu çalışma ile bu alanda çalışan bireylere analitik bakış açısı kazandırmak ve akılcı bir yaklaşımla çalışma süresini daha verimli hale getirmek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada etüdün teknik özellikleri, armonik yapısı ve teknik gelişim açısından çalıcıya katkıları incelenmiştir. 60 ölçüden oluşan etüdün ana motifinin. â€Å“Şekil 8†olduğu farklı tonlarda tekrar eden bu motifin etüdün %40â€â„¢ını oluşturduğu sağ elde legato çalışması ve sol elde arpej çalma ve parmak tutma açısında etkili bir teknik gelişim sağladığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

This research is an figurative study analyzing technically and stylistically the number 1 etude of the Sebastian Lee`s method which is widely used for cello lessons in the department of music faculties in Turkey (Güler, 2006). The content analysis model, one of the qualitative research methods, is used in the study. The purpose of the study is to give analytic point of view and to make more efficient the practice time with a rational approach for the individuals who study in this field. Technical characteristics, harmonic structure and contributions to the musician in terms of technical development were researched in this study. The study concluded that the main motif (Figure 8) of the etude composed of 60 bars, the repeated motif in different tones consists the 40% of the etude, it provides efficient technical improvement for legato study in right hand and arpeggio in left hand and holding finger.
