Bu çalışma, Türkiye’de öncelikli olarak spor amaçlı kullanılan kamuya ait tam ve yarı olimpik açık ve kapalı yüzme havuzlarında sağlık ve güvenlik ile ilgili mevcut durumun tespit edilerek, uygulamadaki eksikleri ortaya konulması ve bunların giderilmesine katkı sağlaması amacı ile yapıldı. Çalışmamız sonuçları; hijyenik ve teknik ekipmanların %78,5; duş, tuvalet, soyunma odalarının %67; su kalitesinin %75 oranlarında standartlara uygun olmadığı ve kullanıcı sağlığını önemli düzeyde tehdit ettiği göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak; kullanılan suyun kalitesi ve hijyenik olması sadece Türkiye’de yaşanan bir sorun olmayıp, bir çok ülkenin de gündeminde bulunmaktadır. Yaşanan bu sorunun en önemli nedeni; havuzlardaki kullanıcı sayısının yüksek olmasıdır. Olumsuz şartların kullanıcı sayısı ile daha da tehlikeli boyutlara ulaşacağı düşünülürse, havuzlardaki su kalitesinin yükseltilmesi, denetimin etkinleştirilmesi ve sonrasında da uygun şartlarda tesis sayısının artırılması ile önlenebileceğini düş

This study was done to determine the present situation related to the health and safety of the open, half-open Olympic and closed public swimming pools used essentially for the sportive activities in turkey to reveal the deficiencies in practice and to help overcoming these deficiencies. The results of our study show that 75% of the hygienic and technical equipment, 67% of shower, toilet , undressing rooms, and 75% of the quality of water are not suitable for the standards and this threaten human health. As a result, the problem related to the quality and hygen of water is not a problem only existing in turkey, but it is the concern of many countries. The main cause of this problem is the large number of users. Taking into consideration the large number of users causing the worse conditions, the quality of water should be increased, the controls should be activated, and also the number of the institvations should be increased according to the defined standards.
